ON RECORD: UNTOLD & RETOLD

Liverpool Black History Month - Celebrating black music.

ON RECORD: UNTOLD & RETOLD is a festival of celebration and exploration of black music and the role it has played in communities, brought to you by Culture Liverpool and Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF).

Along with reputable Merseyside artists such as The Real Thing, The Christians, and MiC LOWRY, we are taking you on a journey through Merseyside's black music scene from the past 70 years through a truly impressive line-up of live performance, debate and film.

It was an honour to be commissioned by Culture Liverpool to compose a song in celebration of Black History Month. I wanted to create a piece that acknowledged and paid homage to a diverse range of black artists, established and emerging, who create original music from across the City Region. My piece, AMALGAMATION, is made up of some of my own original writing coupled with segments of songs by other black local artists. You will hear it performed by Sense of Sound Singers live on stage at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

You can watch it all from the comfort and safety of your living rooms, so join us for a celebration of black music - Friday 30th October, 5pm on www.limfestival.com/onrecord/
